Description

Holiday Seven Layer Bars are a rich and gooey holiday dessert bar made with graham cracker crumbs, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, and nuts. This easy seven layer bars recipe is perfect for Christmas parties, cookie trays, potlucks, and make ahead holiday baking.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 can sweetened condensed milk, 14 ounces

1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

1 cup butterscotch chips

1 1/3 cups sweetened shredded coconut

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and salt until evenly combined.

3. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan.

4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust.

5. Sprinkle the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, shredded coconut, pecans, and walnuts over the top.

6. Drizzle the vanilla extract lightly across the surface.

7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top is lightly golden and the edges are set.

8. Cool completely in the pan, then chill for 1 hour for cleaner slices.

9. Lift the bars out of the pan and cut into 24 squares.

Notes

These bars slice best after they have fully cooled and chilled, so do not rush that step.

You can use all pecans or all walnuts if that is what you have on hand.

Store the bars in an airtight container and place parchment between layers to keep them from sticking.
