Description
One Pan Cheeseburger Pie Dinner is a hearty, easy family dinner made with seasoned ground beef, cheddar cheese, and a simple baked topping, creating a comforting one pan meal that is perfect for busy weeknights, cozy dinners, and easy make ahead leftovers.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small yellow onion, chopped
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
2 large eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp butter, melted
pickles, ketchup, or mustard for serving, optional
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
2. In a large oven-safe skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain any excess grease.
3. Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, then spread the mixture evenly in the skillet.
4. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef mixture.
5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, flour, baking powder, and melted butter until smooth.
6. Pour the batter evenly over the beef and cheese.
7. Bake for 22 to 28 minutes, until the top is lightly golden and set in the center.
8. Let the pie rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
9. Serve warm with pickles, ketchup, or mustard if desired.
Notes
For the best texture, drain the beef well before adding the cheese so the pie does not turn greasy.
Letting the pie rest before slicing helps it hold together neatly and makes serving much easier.
You can add a little extra cheddar on top during the last few minutes of baking if you want a cheesier finish.
