Description

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 3/4 cups granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon red food coloring

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon white vinegar

3/4 cup white chocolate chips, optional


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until glossy.

3. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, red food coloring, and white vinegar, then whisk until smooth.

4. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt.

5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until combined.

6. Stir in the white chocolate chips if using.

7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

8. Bake for 28 to 34 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

9. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

Use gel food coloring if you want a deeper red color without thinning the batter.

Do not overmix once the flour is added or the brownies can turn out less fudgy.

For clean slices, chill the cooled brownies for 20 minutes before cutting.
