Description
Ritz Cracker Chicken Casserole is a creamy, buttery chicken casserole with tender shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, and a golden Ritz cracker topping, making it an easy comfort food dinner for busy weeknights or cozy family meals.
Ingredients
3 cups cooked shredded chicken
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir until fully combined.
3. Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
4. In a separate bowl, mix the crushed Ritz crackers with the melted butter until the crumbs are evenly coated.
5. Sprinkle the buttery cracker mixture over the chicken filling in an even layer.
6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the casserole is hot and bubbling and the top is golden brown.
7. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with chopped parsley and serve.
Notes
Use rotisserie chicken to make prep faster and add extra flavor.
Do not crush the Ritz crackers too finely or the topping can lose its crisp texture.
For the best crunchy topping, reheat leftovers in the oven instead of the microwave.
