Description

Small Batch Chocolate Chip Cookies are the perfect soft and chewy homemade cookies for when you want a quick dessert without making a full batch. Made with brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and semi-sweet chocolate chips, these easy small batch cookies bake up with golden edges, tender centers, and rich chocolate flavor.


Ingredients

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 egg yolk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/8 teaspoon baking soda

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a small baking sheet or plate with parchment paper.

2. In a medium bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.

3. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, then stir until fully combined.

4. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, and mix just until a soft dough forms.

5. Fold in the chocolate chips, making sure they are evenly distributed through the dough.

6. Scoop the dough into 5 to 6 equal portions and place them on the prepared baking sheet with space between each one.

7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the centers still look slightly soft.

8. Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes before serving or transferring to a rack.

Notes

Use room temperature butter so it creams smoothly with the sugars.

Do not overbake the cookies if you want soft centers.

Press a few extra chocolate chips on top before baking for a bakery-style look.
