Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries

1 cup granulated sugar

6 cups water

4 black tea bags

1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

Ice to serve


Instructions

1. Hull and slice strawberries, then add to a saucepan with 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar.

2. Simmer over medium heat until strawberries soften and liquid slightly thickens, about 10 minutes.

3. Strain the syrup using a fine mesh sieve, pressing gently to extract flavor. Let it cool.

4. Boil 4 cups of water, steep tea bags for 5–10 minutes depending on strength preference. Let it cool.

5. In a large pitcher, mix the strawberry syrup and brewed tea.

6. Stir well, taste, and add lemon juice if desired. Adjust sweetness if needed.

7. Refrigerate until cold.

8. Serve in glasses filled with ice, garnished with lemon or strawberry slices.

Notes

Make the strawberry syrup ahead and store for up to a week.

Use green tea or herbal tea if you want a caffeine-free version.
