Description

Sweet And Spicy Thai Chicken is a quick and flavorful chicken dinner made with tender chicken pieces, sweet chili sauce, garlic, soy sauce, honey, and a touch of heat for the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and savory flavor.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs

3 tablespoons cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/3 cup sweet chili sauce

2 tablespoons honey

1 to 2 tablespoons sriracha

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

2 green onions, sliced

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

1. Pat the chicken dry and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Toss it with the cornstarch, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, honey, sriracha, rice vinegar, and grated ginger.

3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until lightly browned.

4. Turn the chicken pieces and continue cooking for another 3 to 4 minutes until nearly cooked through.

5. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.

6. Pour the sauce into the skillet and stir well to coat the chicken.

7. Let the sauce simmer for 2 to 4 minutes until thickened and glossy.

8. Remove from the heat and top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

9. Serve hot with rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.

Notes

Use chicken thighs for the juiciest result, but chicken breast works too if you watch the cooking time carefully.

Start with 1 tablespoon of sriracha if you want a milder sauce, then add more after tasting.

If the sauce gets too thick, stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons of water at the end to loosen it slightly.
